Hungry for a moto fix? How about a snack size video.
Might as well keep it brief. According to youtube stats nobody really watches more than a minute or so anyway.
What fork oil to use?

2013 FE has me asking questions...
1. 2013 KTM 450SXF FE has dark blue graphics with a Redbull symbol at the tip of each radiator shroud and also has an orange frame. Also they have stickers on the frame stating what number model of the FE series it is, and include orange triple clamps.
2. MY " 2013 450 FE" has white graphics (2014 Factory graphics), a stock colored (charcoal gray) frame, no sticker on the frame, and a black triple clamp system.
Now the graphics ARE factory edition, and the VIN number DOES come back as factory edition. But why is it so different than the other FE 450's?
I just purchased it from Los Angeles Ducati/KTM and after bringing it home with a dead battery, it has me asking questions.
THANKS MUCH!
New guy here...comment
My recent purchase is in the shop to get some basics done, including the carb. So the owner, who has a load of experience, been in business for a long time and has great reviews calls me, says come by shop, got the carb cleaned up and adjusted. Check it out, we'll go from there.
I'm new to bikes, but not an idiot. I have a 75 XL 250. I understand that it's basic good practice to warm up your bike's engine before carrying on...2 strokes especially.
I get there, jump on it, starts right away, but doesn't necessarily idle perfect...he says don't be afraid. Give it more throttle.
So I start it again, then he grabs the throttle and starts winging it, and holding rpms up. I told him to knock it the hell off. He says it's perfectly ok to do, just to take it easy while riding for the first couple minutes, and revs it ip again. Honestly, I told him no offense, but that was about the lamest thing I've heard in some time. I hit the kill switch...hell no.
How on earth could someone in the biz with such a good rep be so retarded??
Just venting I guess...but geez.
Thoughts....

A guy wants to swap a Freshly rebuilt wr400 99 model with a high compression piston for my 1990 dr350
I rode the bike and is great, very smooth and nice power delivery
It isn't in best shape tho
That isn't my reason for the topic tho how ever this is... I'm 65kg and I can start it, Nor could he so we tow started it, is there a tequnique for starting these beasts is question 1 and number two is do I have to use premuim petrol instead of normal unleaded to prevent the motor detonating from high comp piston... Will it blow the bottom up anyway??
Any advice would be muchly appreciated because i have to make my mind up within 5 days!
Cheers toby

2006 CRF450R - what do I have, pictures inside
I recently acquired a '06 CRF450R, removed the top end...
Looking at the piston and looks aftermarket forged ?
Piston numbers
10-16
19465
C
99.98
Vertex
Is this a big bore piston or stock ?

High rpm with no throttle?
Dim front blinkers
I noticed yesterday that the front blinkers on my plated E are very dim, they flash, but you can hardly make out the light. The bike has a Baja kit (2years old), and everything else, headlight, taillight, brakelight, horn and rear blinkers are all functioning good. I'll, of course, check the connections, but I have a feeling they're fine, is there anything else I should be looking for
Suzuki Fork Swap
I own a 74 TS250 and would like to update the forks. Question is would a set from an 81 TS 250 be a bolt on switch, using the 81 triple clamps? Thanks Duce
2014 RMZ 250F locked-up - can't find issue
Hi....I have a 2014 rmz 250 F which locked-up while riding on Saturday. I was idling with the clutch it coming down a hill and it shut-off. It didn't make any weird noises..... just shut off. At the bottom of the hill I tried catching it in gear and it slid the back wheel. I tried kick starting it and that's when I discovered it was locked up.
I drained the oil....no signs of metal....I pulled the spark plug....no signs of an issue. I pulled the valve cover off....everything was Ok there....I removed the ride and left side cases...no issues....I removed the head.....valves are good....piston is good...cylinder is good.
I put it in second gear and started rocking the rear tide forward and backwards....I got it turning over....it's turning over freely...although its hard to tell how freely because you're turning so much stuff.
I pulled the engine from the bike....not sure where to go from here.
Any ideas???? Crank Shaft bearing issue?????
Thanks.
Dp clutch no oil soak?
Relocate CDI, 2002 200
In order to get tighter turning I want to relocate the CDI on my 200 from the head tube. My first idea is to make a plate that screws to the three molded pillars in the rear (inside) of the airbox and attach it to that. Since a lot of air is getting pulled through there it shouldn't overheat and is well protected. Has anyone done that, or do you have any other suggestions as to where to put it? I didn't want to hang it in the frame under the tank, it seems that would lead to overheating. I haven't examined a newer 200, where did the factory put the CDI when they moved it? Thanks!
