Lowering a 2007 TE450 (I'm short) boo-hoo
I am currently riding a KLX300 and the ride height is just about as high as I can do and touch with 1 foot (tippy-toe) I am 5'8" tall and have pretty short legs.
From what I have read the TE is about 2.5" taller so I would really want to lower it. I have not been able to find an option for a rear link for this year which may be a deal breaker for me. Can anybody point me in the right direction if there is something out there to help a vertically challenged, middle aged man enjoy a better bike?

Sliding while cornering
First is a flat right hand sweeper. Hard pack with the usual grit and a few bots and pieces. Not real ruts or berm to get into. I come into the corner leaned over and roll the throttle on smoothly and if I try and go too fast I get the front and/or rear sliding. Not sure if it's rider postion, line selection or suspension, but I will add the more I think about my position on the bike the better the traction I get, but favouring the front or the rear.
2nd/3rd corners are very similar. Sort of flat rutty corners, ones a lefty ones a right. Similarly if I come in and just tip the bike over as much as I can and gas it, it slides out under me and I end up drifting with to much wheel spin. These corners are softer dirt.
Hope these questions make sense. I've tried to give as much information as i can. Bike is a 12' YZ250F in great condition if that helps.
Thanks.

yz450f parts on wr250f
Are there any good parts that can be taken off a 2011 yz450f and put onto a 2009 wr250f. Im not sure if there's anything worth while trying to swap. Reason i ask is a friends is parting out yz450f, so just curious if there was anything i might want to take a look at.
Thanks
Kickstand
The kickstand mount/bracket on my 03 WR450 just broke. I need just the new mount,(The piece that attaches from the frame to the spring that makes the kickstand stay up while riding) not the entire stand.
Low seat height dual sport to keep up with DRZ
Hey folks. I have been tooling around in Northeast Oregon for the past few days, (recently moved back to my hometown). I am wondering about what options are available for a dual sport with a pretty low seat height, for a rider that is about 5'6, that might keep up with a DRZ both on the highway (speed limit 55) and on gravel roads/mild trails. Some concerns are things like aftermarket larger capacity fuel tanks, cargo racks, maybe a seat depending, skid plates and etc. I was looking hard at the Yamaha XT250 today, but I cannot find an aftermarket tank for it. Any recommendations would be great.
Thanks ahead

Ktm 200 vs 250 reliability........
Ktm 200 vs 250 reliability........ I'm interested in a 2014 ktm 200 or 250xcw but I want to buy the one that's going to be cheaper to maintain and last longer. How long will the crank last on the 200 vs the 250? I know the smaller bored engines cranks don't last as long. Also what is the difference in top end life? Thanks
Reliable and fun trails bike for 5'10" 160 lb beginner/intermediate
So I want: reliable, light, low-ish seat height, decent trails suspension, CA green sticker, and enough low end power to ride slow single track.
From searching through old posts I've found suggestions ranging from small motocrossers like the kx100 to an xr200/250 to the kdx200. The small motocross bikes are light but maybe too peaky for tight trails? Will I just be soon abusing an XR's suspension?
What other bikes should I keep an eye out in my search? Any opinions on the above listed bikes?

Questions regarding wr250f
Hey guys,
So within the next few weeks I am buying another dirt bike. The WR250F's have really caught my eye, but have heard a lot of different opinions regarding how much maintenance is required to keep them in good, proper shape. I know that they will require more maintenance than a 230 per say, but question is HOW much more maintenance. I do not race, and I do not do enduro, just stick to mostly trails and stuff of the sort. I live in Canada, so our trails get pretty messy in the Spring and I would obviously not be able to drive the bike during the Winter. I never really hit my rev limiter or keep it at unnecessarily high RPM's. Trail conditions that I'd be riding on for the most part would consist of dusty dirt roads and wet trails, some with fairly deep (but passable) puddles. Based on these conditions and my riding style (I'm 15), how much maintenance would be needed to keep the bike properly cared for? How often would I need to change my oil, clean my air filter, check the valve clearance, etc? Ultimately I really need to figure out if I'll be able to afford the maintenance that comes with owning one of these. I'm hoping that since I don't beat the crap out of my engine too much that it might reduce the amount of maintenance that has to be done, but let me know what you guys think! any help would be really appreciated!
